I have heard radio commercials saying that there is a need for helicopter pilots. I have worked around helicopter for several years (wildland firefighting) and have a basic understanding of them. I would like to know about the pros and cons of such a career.

Well, I don’t really want to spend much money on college…

I already have many backup plans if aviation does not work out for me, so a four year degree is just something I don’t want right now.

Instead I thought getting an Associates degree at my local community college would be ok.

I looked at a lot of Airline job applications and it says to be competitive you should have some college…

I think this is a good idea because it will allow me to spend more money on getting flight hours.

What do you guys think?

I am going to Loyola Academy high school and I am in the college selection process of which aviation college I should pick go to. I am planning to go to Embry Riddle or University of north dakota. If you guys have any sugggestions which one or any schools you know, please tell me. I am very grateful if you can answer this.

P.S. or should I go to college and get another degree and then go to, lets say, ATP or Delta connection Academy?

I prefer if it is located in California… and I’m definitely not interested in going to community college.

Any advice?

I know it is not necessary to go to college, but I want to experience college life and at the same time become a pilot.

Hi guys, I am planning on being a ATP ( airline transport pilot). I will be able to fly airlines when i become an ATP. But what aviation college should i go to, to be a pilot? I thought about Embry Riddle, but i think its to expensive. Is there any other good colleges that gives good training to be a ATP. Thank you all.
