How important do you think college is nowadays?

Is it worth the crazy costs? I know of so many people who do real well for themselves and never stepped foot in college, and I know college grads who still struggle with crappy jobs and can’t stay on top of their bills (including their student loans!) I’m not against college in any way, but am curious how today’s young adults feel about college.

The campus is one of the most important factors in my decision. I am looking into SVA because it is my dream school but the urban setting disappoints me.
