What career opportunities are available to someone with a degree in Music or Music Education?

I’m about to start College and I’m clueless as to what I want to do career-wise. I know that I’ve still got time, but if I don’t start looking I feel like I’m going to run out. I’m very interested in music and would maybe like to do something with that.

Music is fun. But there are not many careers that are going to pay you very much money. Of course, if you want to be a Rock Star and you succeed, then that is another story.

You can be a musician. haha, but seriously, you can be a music educator. My high school band director is probably the best teacher I’ve ever had. You spend 4 years with a teacher and you start to for a bond with them lol. He was a teacher that you could talk to if you had problems, or just hang out with in his office during off periods.
Although I’m a Criminal Justice major, a lot of my friends are music majors. A good friend of mine is a jazz preformance major and makes money playing gigs around town to help pay for school.
You do have limited options, but the options are great.

You could become a nuclear research physicist or a Departmental Pathology Technician, a Radiologist, an Investigator Scientist or even a Part Time Sessional Lecturer.
