jack p asked: I am looking to apply to very selective colleges and I want to know how much Ap scores matter. How much do they matter in terms of Credit in college as well as looking good on your college ap. Do colleges even look at your ap scores when judging you?

actually i believe that your over all high school career matters, like you extra curricular activities, what you have done that’s been over the top, stuff like that! try to get in touch with students that go to that school and ask them!

Colleges do look at basically everything when judging you and AP scores look a lot better on your application then say- ridiculous stupid duel enrollment. I’ve been taking a few AP classes myself and got a 4/5 on my AP Lang Comp. test.
If your score is a 3 you’ll be accepted by most average colleges.
Anything above a three can be considered for Ivy League colleges, anything below a 3 is practically rubbish and you might want to consider having that score wiped. >>
AP classes on your application also show that you did harder than college work in highschool and an AP grade is weighted higher than honors and average classes in high school. Hope this helps

In my experience the colleges don’t look at your ap exam scores in your acceptance…it’s more of a tool used so that you can get credit for certain classes if you are in a certain range on your exam. I personally got credit for a boring intro to drawing class because of my ap exam score.

Its a plus that you’re taking the exam and the AP class, but if you don’t pass the AP test, it doesn’t count against you.

they don’t matter, as long as you pass it, they don’t care what your score is. If you pass you AP exam for certain course, you can skip that class, you don’t recieve credit for it (show on your transcript as pass AP or something like that).
for example: you pass Calculus I AP exam, then you can take Calculus 2. i think they count credit for your Ap but you don’t have score for it (mean it won’t count as an A or B, etc…).

they matter more than anything else. if you have to sacrifice friendships to get those scores then godamnit you will have to. your friends are holding you back. they are also worthless and insensitive
